The youth opera TSCHICK (premiered in Hagen in 2017), a fast-paced, highly avant-garde work based on the novel of the same name by Wolfgang Herrndorf, will be released as the fifth new production on May 2, 2026, at the Volkstheater Rostock. (The wildly acclaimed fourth new production took place in 2022 at the Vienna State Opera). The production will be directed by the gifted young talent Matthias Piro.

TSCHICK tells the story of the unusual friendship between a 14-year-old boy from a middle-class background and a neglected young immigrant from Russia. Further information is available here.
